Guides for getting the most out of Strum by Strum.

Connect to Claude
Strum by Strum exposes an MCP server so Claude can read and edit your songs on your behalf. You sign in with your Strum by Strum account when prompted — Claude only sees what you can see.

Server URL

Use this URL when adding Strum by Strum as a custom MCP server in any Claude client.

Claude.ai & Claude Desktop

  1. Open Settings → Connectors and choose Add custom connector.
  2. Paste the server URL above and select the HTTP transport.
  3. Approve the sign-in prompt that opens — it uses your existing Strum by Strum account.
  4. Start a new chat and ask Claude to look up a song or make an edit.

Claude Code (CLI)

Run this command in your terminal, then start claude and approve the OAuth prompt that opens in your browser.

claude mcp add --transport http strumbystrum https://www.strumbystrum.com/api/mcp

What Claude can do

  • Search your artists, albums, and songs.
  • Read the full structure of a song — sections, measures, chords, and lyrics.
  • Edit songs you own: insert or remove sections, update measures, copy verses, and more.
  • Every action runs as you, so Claude can't touch songs you don't have access to.
